  • What fitness level do I need to walk the Camino?

Your body is not used to walking for so many days in a row. You cannot prepare for this. During your Camino you will feel aches and pains that you have never felt before. You will even worry whether you can continue walking. Don't worry, this is normal. Your body gets used to walking, in the first 3 to 6 days you will experience the most aches and pains. Our advice is to start with 'small' stages around 20 km. Take all the time you have and as many breaks as possible.

  • How do I prevent blisters?

To prevent blisters, there are a few tips that I have found helpful: 1. Wear double socks (prevents friction on your foot) 2. Change your shoes during lunch, for example to sandals. 3. Powder your feet with magnesium powder twice a day.

  • What is the best time to walk the Camino?

A Camino can be walked from March to November. Many accommodations are closed during the winter months. It is quiet in March and November and busiest in the summer. The weather is unpredictable.
