Welcome to Albergue El Texu, an inn run by a Dutch family!
We, Gepke Bruinsma, Thijs Haegens, and Femke Luz, would love to welcome you! For the true pilgrim feeling, you have come to the right place! At El Texu Inn on the Camino Primitivo, you will feel right at home; you won't have to go anywhere else! Our inn is located in La Espina, a small village situated between Salas and Tineo, a 40-minute drive from Oviedo and Asturias airports.

EL TEXU HOSTEL
Welcome to Albergue El Texu, a pilgrim hostel named after the sacred Yew tree. It is located in the green, mountainous region of Asturias, also known as the New Zealand or Ireland of Spain. If you want to avoid the crowds and seek peace and tranquility, stop between the standard stages!
We are in La Espina, a small village between Salas and Tineo, the 2nd or 3rd stage from Oviedo of the Camino Primitivo.
Our hostel is located 55 km past Oviedo and 24 km before the start of the beautiful 'Route de Hospitales'.
Our hostel consists of 4 mixed dormitories, each accommodating 4 people. There is also a private room. Accommodation includes cotton bedding, warm blankets, towels, and free laundry service. The 4 bathrooms and toilets are shared.

We are open from Saturday, March 28 to Sunday, November 1. We are closed on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

It is important to us that you feel at home in our inn; then our mission is accomplished. You are truly our guest. We offer a place where people connect with each other by sharing, having genuine conversations with people of different nationalities. Here you can be yourself and recharge for the next day!
When you arrive with us, you won't need to go anywhere else. Upon arrival, a nice cold beer with tapas or coffee with Dutch apple pie will be waiting for you. Every evening we serve a delicious pilgrim's meal, and in the morning, a power breakfast. We cook a nutritious meal such as Thai curry or Italian pasta (vegetarian or vegan options available), naturally accompanied by a bottle of wine. The true pilgrim feeling; an experience you will never forget!
In our cozy living room, there is enough space to read a book, make music, or play a game together.

Group accommodation
Albergue El Texu is an ideal place for groups. We can accommodate 16 people. The entire hostel can be rented, and you can bring your own food or have us cook for you. Everything can be arranged in consultation. Group sessions, games, and music can be held in our cozy living room. We have already had the pleasure of welcoming various groups, much to their and our delight!
Volunteer adventure
Every year, we are supported by volunteers from all over the world. This special experience is enriching if you enjoy immersing yourself in the Camino atmosphere or if you are curious about what it is like to run a hostel on the Camino. If you would like to roll up your sleeves for 2 to 4 weeks, please get in touch!
