Welcome to Albergue El Texu! We, Gepke Bruinsma, Thijs Haegens, and Femke Luz, are delighted to welcome you! For that true pilgrimage feeling, you've come to the right place! At Albergue El Texu on the Camino Primitivo, you'll feel at home—you don't need to go anywhere! Our hostel is located in La Espina, a village between Salas and Tineo, a 40-minute drive from Oviedo and Asturias airports.

EL TEXU HOSTEL
Welcome to Albergue El Texu, a pilgrimage hostel named after the sacred yew tree. It's located in the green, mountainous region of Asturias, often called the New Zealand or Ireland of Spain. If you want to avoid the crowds and enjoy peace and quiet, stop off between the standard stages!
We are in La Espina, a village between Salas and Tineo, the 2nd or 3rd stage from Oviedo of the Camino Primitivo.
Our hostel is located 55 km after Oviedo and 24 km before the start of the beautiful 'Route de Hospitales'.
Our hostel consists of four mixed dormitories, each sleeping four people. Private rooms can also be booked. Beds include cotton linens, warm blankets, towels, and free laundry service. The four bathrooms and toilets are shared.

We are open from Saturday, March 28th through Sunday, November 1st. We are closed on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

It's important to us that you feel at home in our hostel; that's when our mission is accomplished. You're truly a guest in our home. We offer a place where people connect through sharing. Have genuine conversations with people from different nationalities. Here you can be yourself and recharge for the next day!
When you arrive, you won't need to go anywhere else. A nice cold beer with tapas or coffee and Dutch apple pie will be waiting for you. Every evening, we serve a delicious pilgrim's meal and in the morning, a power breakfast. We'll cook a nutritious meal like Thai curry or Italian pasta (vegetarian or vegan options are also available) and, of course, a bottle of wine. That true pilgrim feeling; an experience you'll never forget!
In our cozy living room there is plenty of space to read a book, make music or play a game together.

Group accommodation
Albergue El Texu is an ideal place for groups. We can accommodate 16 people. The entire hostel can be rented, and you can bring your own food or have us cook for you. Everything can be arranged upon request. Our cozy living room is perfect for group sessions, games, and music. We've already hosted several groups, much to their—and our—delight!
Volunteer adventure
Every year, we are supported by volunteers from all over the world. This special experience is enriching if you enjoy immersing yourself in the Camino spirit or are curious about what it's like to run a hostel along the Camino.
